  • Jo Lewis

    Friends Membership Co-ordinator

Jo left Bristol University with a degree in Classics.  She still maintains a deep love of the art, architecture, archaeology, literature and history of the Roman and Greek eras.  She then had a long career working for ICL and BT Global Services in customer facing roles – sales support, business development, and ultimately running an IT Consultancy practice.  She worked closely with Local Authorities, especially many of the London Boroughs, as well as the UK Utility industry and Telecoms companies.  Jo also helped bring together International sales teams into a consistent global practice, developing with them country marketing strategies and sales plans.  This included successfully bidding for a significant budget to develop offerings to our main markets.

A six month marketing assignment with a Polish near-shore software development company was her final corporate role.

Since retiring from the corporate world, she has used her free time to pursue her love of travel, botanical watercolour painting, reading, theatre and art.

It was a natural progression to join in 2019 the volunteer team at the Oxmarket in a front of house role, and Jo has loved meeting and welcoming visitors to the gallery as well as the fabulous artists who have exhibited there.

Jo is really pleased to have now joined the staff to help develop and manage a number of programmes, as well as continuing her volunteering role.
