Wilson Gallery
A joint exhibition by sculptor Jane Fremantle and painter Mike Walker. When the two artists first put their work together in the studio they discovered an immediate compatibility, a synchronicity of shape and form which seemed to erode any clear distinction between two and three dimensions. The exhibition will explore this inter-relationship and the way in which, as Mike says, 'there are genuine areas of ambiguity, so that you have to look closely to see where the sculpture ends, as if its outermost skin is cast into doubt, or as if the paintings are in the process of solidifying.'
Jane and Mike will both exhibit works in the Wilson Gallery and Jane will show sculpture in the courtyard.
Jane Fremantle exhibited at Oxmarket Contemporary in 2021 and Mike Walker had two works selected for the OXMARKET OPEN 2022.
