Aylin has worked as a professional artist for over twenty five years. She completed her foundation studies at West Sussex College of Art and Design in Worthing, then moved abroad and studied Graphic design in Savannah, Georgia in the 1990s. She later worked and lived in the Bahamas and Spain as an artist, painting seascapes, marine life, and local street scenes using mainly oils and acrylics
Aylin moved back to the UK in 2003, and later studied Fine Art in Northbrook College, and obtained a BA Hons in Fine Art Painting.
Aylin uses her travels as an inspiration for her paintings. She is interested in the effects of light, shadow, captured in oils using sketches and camera as her reference materials to capture the essence of a scene. She focuses on coastlines, boats, and landscapes. She views walking and connecting with nature as her spiritual growth. Nature is represented as a precious part of our lives.
“Painting is the heart and soul for me”
Jeff has painted for most of his adult life and since retirement from Local Government has endeavoured to spend more time painting. He has a degree in Fine Art and concentrates primarily on landscapes, townscapes, and coastal scenes in oils. After all these years he is still struggling to work loosely and in a more bold, painterly way. This is the constant challenge that keeps him painting.
Jeff is also fascinated by the versatility and richness of oil paint, the use of thick paint, and the effects that can be achieved on canvas and textured surfaces. He loves the vibrant colours produced on bright, sunny days. He has had the odd foray into abstraction but is probably too ‘literal’ in the way he sees the world and inevitably returns to representational work.
